Wicker Suite

Wicker Suite is the three-time Golden Guitar-winning bluegrass-folk group fronted by Australian fiddler Gabi Louise and New Zealand singer-songwriter Liam Kennedy-Clark. Rooted in the traditions of country, bluegrass and folk, they weave the well-worn in unexpected ways, making music that is distinctly Wicker Suite.
Wicker Suite turn lived experience into songs that feel deeply personal yet familiar; songs of falling in love, growing older, the places we come from and the ones we leave behind, heartbreak and loss, and the moments that often go unspoken, but which shape who we are. Their music is full of unexpected twists and turns. Intimate and unguarded one moment, spirited and virtuosic the next. What brings it all together is the heart of Wicker Suite: two voices, a fiddle, and a guitar.
Wicker Suite released their ARIA-charting debut album, This Is Wicker Suite, in 2023. The album brought with it their first two Golden Guitars at the Country Music Awards of Australia: ‘Old Pickup Line’ for Bluegrass Recording of the Year, and ‘Ghost Train’ for Instrumental of the Year. Since then, they have played everywhere from inner-city theatres and festival stages to the far reaches of outback Australia. Then, from August 2025 to April 2026, they took things back to the country halls with The Way That It Was tour, travelling through Australia and New Zealand.
In 2026, ‘Lyrebird’ earned Wicker Suite their third Golden Guitar; their second for Instrumental of the Year. Outside Wicker Suite, Gabi and Liam continue to split their time between the road and the studio, playing and recording with artists including Keith Urban, Lee Kernaghan, Birds of Tokyo, Troy Cassar-Daley, Beccy Cole and Adam Harvey.
It is on stage that Wicker Suite really comes alive. The way they listen, respond and play off one another is something you can see as much as hear, and little distance exists between Wicker Suite and their audience. Songs shift in the moment, stories spill out, humour is never far away, and each performance takes on a life of its own.
Now comes Wicker Suite’s second album, Beauty In A Circumstance. Wicker Suite share more of themselves this time around; some stories are more personal and vulnerable, they draw more openly from the music that shaped them, and bring a wider circle of songwriters, musicians and creatives into the fold to make a record they’re deeply proud of. ‘Fiddle & Guitar’, ‘The Way That It Was’ and Golden Guitar-winning ‘Lyrebird’ all find a home on the record, alongside new single ‘Secondhand Heart’ (out 30th October). When Beauty In A Circumstance arrives in February 2027, Wicker Suite will take these songs back out on the road, playing country halls and festivals across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
